With an updated system, the final qualifiers for ESL One: Cologne 2016 will surely get more unpredictable!
ESL One: Cologne 2016 Qualifier will take place in the city of Katawice, Poland from June 9-12. 16 teams will face off against each other to find 8 best squads to make it into the most desireble tournament for any CS:GO esportman, the Major. The qualifiers themsemselves will use the Swiss system, which is widely used in chess tournaments.
Under this system, teams will play a maximum of five best-of-one matches. Three losses will result in leaving the competition. After the pre-determined rivals in the first round, teams will go on playing in the next rounds with opponents they haven't played with before. It's noteworthy that they will have the same number of victories. When all five rounds are over, top eight teams reaching ESL One: Cologne 2016 will be found.
