Tournament Policy

The tournament will run in two stages: the qualifiers and LAN Finals. The qualifying stage in its turn will be divided into three parts: two group stages and the Last Chance mini tournament. In the first group stage 16 participating teams will be divided into 4 groups with 4 teams in each, the system of running is round-robin, while a match format is best-of-3. Best teams from each group will reach the next stage, while teams to take the second place will be fighting for two more slots.

In the second group stage two invited teams and six participants that got through the first group stage will be divided into two groups. The format and system of running is the same as in the first stage. Following the results of the meetings, teams to take the first and second places in the groups will reach the next stage, while the remaining fives are going to the Last Chance bracket. There they will be divided into pairs to play the classic Olympic elimination play-off. Matches will run in a bo3 format.

12 teams will reach the LAN Finals: 2 directly invited teams, 5 teams that got through the European qualifying stage, 3 ones — through the Chinese qualifier and two more from the USA and SEA (with one team from each region). Participants will be divided into two groups with six teams in each. The system of the group stage is round robin, the match format is best-of-three. Following the results of the group stage, teams to take the first place in the group will reach the semi-final, while teams to take the second and third places will make it into the quarterfinals. The play-off will run in the classic Olympic elimination system, while matches will run in a best-of-three format.
